Calgary, AB – April 14, 2024 – Summit Nanotech (‘Summit’) is pleased to announce the appointment of Joe Arencibia as President & Chief Operating Officer (COO). Formerly serving as Senior Vice President of Process Development, Joe has been a key leader in Summit’s growth, contributing significantly to the development and commercialization of its direct lithium extraction (DLE) technology.  

Joe’s previous experience as CEO of a US-based technology company, where he commercialized a highly differentiated process technology that drove benchmark opex and carbon footprint reductions for their industrial customers, makes him a natural fit for this expanded role. As President & COO, Joe will be focused on executing Summit’s strategy while strengthening its market position.

This leadership transition enhances Summit’s ability to scale its high-performance lithium extraction technology to meet growing demand and drive sustainable growth. Joe will work alongside CEO and Founder, Amanda Hall. Their complementary leadership, along with Joe’s industrial roots, will be accretive to the trusting relationships that Summit has forged in the lithium industry over the years.

Summit is working with large mining and energy companies to design commercial scale lithium production plants. Their best-in-class sorbent has been engineered to reduce opex and capex, and substantially reduce water use.
